I believe that art has the power to heal, inspire, and transform. My goal as an artist is to create work that not only looks beautiful, but also resonates with the viewer on a deeper level. I use color theory to activate moods like love, warmth, and many other emotions. For example: you walk into someones home, and you see an old dreary painting is hanging on that individuals wall. Over time this person will react in a negative way, and possibly be detrimental to their health and well being. We are shaped by our environment

My art style is characterized by bold colors, fluid lines, and a sense of movement. I love to experiment with different mediums and techniques to create pieces that are unique and expressive. I use pallet knives to give a 3D effect to finalize almost all of my paintings. I also enhance my prints to make each one a different work of art. I

In the above picture I am explaining the technique to a young Bob Ross look alike. How to make waves jump off the canvas, and palm trees come to life. I love showing youngsters my techniques.

Individual art lessons are $50 an hour, Group parties are also welcome, I bring all the supplies to paint Florida themed art. $50 a person includes supplies, minimum 6 people at paint party. It is so much nicer in the privacy of your own home. BYOB...

I was born on July 4th 1955. I have been blind in my right eye since birth. I have always had a different visual perspective visually then most people with perfect vision. My first encounter with art was at the age of two years old. It is kind of a funny story. My Mom (Rosemary Kiefer McDermott) took me shopping with her at a J.J. Newberry store in the new mall (Green Acres) in Valley Stream New York. My early childhood I lived one town over in the community of Rosedale. Walking distance to the Mall. To get on with the story my Mom was looking at some very boring under garments as I tagged along. Being a little bored I remembered that this store had a lower level with a really neat toy department. (Exit stage right ),I left Mom to her shopping as I proceeded to the basement level. When I got down stairs to the toy department I noticed something to the left of me, a pet department. I diverted and proceeded into the pet department. What immediately caught my one good eye was the fish tanks with all of the different beautiful fish in them. I stood in front of these fish tanks for hours, mesmerized! I have many original oil paintings on canvas available for purchase and I am constantly adding new items to my collection.

While my mom was looking at some undergarments, I wandered off to explore the lower level of the store, where there was a toy department. However, I saw a pet department to the left and decided to check it out instead.
I was immediately captivated by the fish tanks and spent hours standing in front of them, mesmerized by the beautiful fish.
Everybody in the store was looking for me, my mom was in histerics. I thought I was in for a beaten when she found me. That didn't happen however , what happened was my first time my creative desires were turned on. For the next two years I drew thousands upon thousands of little fish like drawings that mimicked the christain fish symbol. This became the origin of my signature. J.MACKY with a little chridtian fish symbol after J.Macky. I sign every piece of art this way for the last sixty plus years AMEN!
